WOMEN WHO JAM!

The National All-Female Music Showcase staged in the

“City of Brotherly Love”

Philadelphia, PA August 28th 2013 – The Philadelphia Network of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment, Inc. (NABFEME) is excited to bring WOMEN WHO JAM!, the nationally respected “all-female” music showcase, to the “City of Brotherly Love” and“Sisterly Affection.”  The showcase hits the stage Wednesday, September 11th at the Mezzanine Super Club at 6:00 p.m.  Already a popular fixture in cities likes Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, D.C. and Charlotte, Philadelphia, a city with unmatched musical history and influence, will provide the perfect location to introduce and highlight female entertainers.

The September 11th showcase will feature Philadelphia’s own, Diamond Sky and Kachina plus Baltimore natives, Veda and Chaquis Maliq.  “Philadelphia is one of my favorite cities to visit; my career is connected to its musical heritage, I love the entertainment opportunities and supportive atmosphere offered to musicians, artists and entertainers,” says CEO and Founder of NABFEME, Ms. Johnnie Walker.  Ms. Walker further states, “I look forward to visiting Philly for this event.”

Philadelphia native Kelley Jackson of New York based Huff Events & PR states that the event’s location, the newly renovated Mezzanine Super Club, will create a sexy vibe for female businesses, musicians and professionals to network and enjoy sweet SVEDKA cocktails.  “The Philadelphia market is a wonderful choice to present our specialized cocktail hour that features many of our refreshing brands. We’ve even created a special cocktail for this event called “The NAB-TINI,” a blend we hope all the ladies will enjoy,” says Jackson.

“Each year large events like the Wawa Welcome America 4th of July Celebration and Made in America bring huge crowds to Philadelphia increasing revenue dollars while providing fun and entertainment for the entire city,”  says Angela Starkey, Head of Operations for NABFEME Philly. She adds, “It’s our hope that Philadelphia will become the next selected city for a national WOMEN WHO JAM! annual concert, it all starts with a few jam sessions to turn this dream into reality.”
